Speaking With an Iowa Nursing Home Abuse Lawyer
When a resident of an Iowa nursing home faces danger right now, 911 is the first call to make. Iowa Code §§ 614.1 et seq. sets the general injury filing time limits at 2 years in Iowa; a nursing home or medical claim may follow a different and sometimes shorter deadline. Within facilities, Iowa Code § 235E.2 gives nursing home staff and employees a duty to report a reasonable belief that a dependent adult was abused. The person in charge must notify the department no more than 24 hours later, and employer policies cannot block reporting. The family can have an attorney check the Iowa dates.
The provider information and health deficiencies files from CMS Care Compare supply the data.
